Get familiar with the TU Delft policies

It is very important for TU Delft that researchers follow best practices on Research Data Management (RDM). That is why since 2018, TU Delft has published a set of policies which provide a clear division of roles and responsibilities around RDM.
In 2018, TU Delft published the ‘Research Data Framework Policy’, which was followed by the publication of faculty-specific data policies.

Additionally, in 2021, TU Delft has published its ‘Research Software Policy’, which is accompanied by extensive ‘Guidelines on Research Software: Licensing, Registration and Commercialisation’. The aim of these policies is to recognize Research Software as a valuable research output that needs to be well-documented, preserved and, whenever possible, consistent with the FAIR principles.

These policies provide a clear division of the roles and responsibilities of all the relevant stakeholders (including you as a supervisor and researcher).
